Anyways, this is the time of the year to get yourself tanned and golden and caramel! I know I am already NC40. And I'm not trying to get myself to be NC42 or anything, I just wanna be a little bit caramel-ish which seems impossible by now. -__-'
Back at home in Malaysia, it is always hot so I was used to using the same products and doing the same make up routine everyday. But 2 years being here, my make up routine varies from winter to spring to summer and to fall. I rarely need primers during winters because on most days, my make up stays on quite well.
So here are few tips and tricks for summer-proof makeup;
1.Layer your face primer.
-Put on your moisturizer, let it sit, put on your sunscreen, let it sit, then it's time for your face primer. (I personally use a setting Urban Decay De-Slick setting spray before my Laura Mercier face primer, but you can skip this step). Apply the first coat of your face primer, then let it dry for about a minute or so. Then, apply a second coat to really get a smooth surface for makeup application. Make sure your primer coats are dry before you put on concealer/foundation/powder or anything else that you put on your face. Lulz.
2.Set your foundation/concealer with translucent loose powder.
-Now,this is really really important. Powder acts as oil absorbent that will keep your face matte and helps your make up stays longer. I recommend you bringing your powder in your handbag, so when your face gets oily, you can take the powder out of your bag, pat some on your face and you're ready to go! I use Laura Mercier Loose Setting powder. It's translucent so it won't cake on more colours.
3.Spray your face with a setting spray as the final step.
-Again, I use the UD De-Slick spray for this step. This obviously locks all your make up in place and all that jazz. Oh, don't forget to throw this in your handbag too, cause when your foundation starts cracking, that's when you spray this baby on your face, and it'll diminish all the cracks that are going on.
That's about it, and enjoy the heat! :)
